My name is Brian. I’ve been playing the piano for about 20 years. I fell in love with music when I was a teenager and poured nearly every waking moment into practicing piano and studying composition. In high school I won numerous local awards and competitions, culminating in a performance of the Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Vermont Youth Orchestra when I was 17.
I went on to study at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada. I earned a Performance Diploma in Piano there and performed in countless masterclasses and recitals, playing both solo and chamber music. I also kept composing and wrote works for piano, voice and string orchestra.
After graduating, I moved to Los Angeles. I spent about 10 years in Southern California working as a freelance pianist. I performed in dozens and dozens of concerts each year and worked closely with students and professors at all the top universities. I also taught piano and continued to compose in my spare time. Outside of my musical pursuits I developed an interest in physical fitness, especially weight lifting and cycling.
In 2013 I decided to go back to my New England roots and I moved cross country to New Hampshire. The focus of my life now is pursuing my creative passions to their fullest. That includes making piano videos for YouTube, composing, exploring all sorts of new and exciting music technology, and also cultivating my long-dormant drawing and painting skills.
In this new incarnation of my website I plan on sharing a wide range of my work. Check back often for new videos, audio recordings, and writings on diverse topics.
